This is a new invention of mine to create Ambient by "destroying" and transforming an actual piano song played by Errol Garner. In this video you will not see much action because there is no live mixing, but everything has been previously set.
Here is the original song:

Here is the process:
- I have this old crackly and noisy vinyl from 1955 of Errol Garner, "Piano Moods". I pitched it down 10% with the turntable and recorded the track "It could happen to you" on cassette with the Yamaha multitrack recorder.
- I played it reverse at half speed and pitched it even more down with the multitrack.
- I added FX with the Zoom MS70 to dramatically change the sound: a stereo chorus, a reverse delay (since the song is reverse, actually it works the opposite, making some piano notes sound straight), a lush shimmer reverb and an exciter to make it brighter.
- Recorded straight to camera without post processing.

Let me know what you this of my little experiment. Feedback is appreciated. Hope you can enjoy!
