I know because I used to use them, too. And I’ve worked with thousands of people who KNOW they backfire.
You know the ones:
“I am safe”
“Everything will be okay”
“I have nothing to worry about”
They sound nice, but if you have OCD or anxiety, they hit wrong. They feel fake. They feed the cycle. They keep you stuck chasing reassurance instead of building real strength.
The ones I use now are different.
“I can let this be here”
“I don’t need this to feel right”
“I can feel anxious and still move forward”
They’re grounded. Real. And they actually help you build resilience. Because when you’re confident in your ability to do the hard things, you obsess less over making sure the hard things don’t happen.
I put 35 of these therapist-approved, anti-BS affirmations into a deck you can flip through anytime your brain’s being a jerk.
