Our French Renovation project in the Creuse started with a buzz!We always wanted a house in France after years of watching A place in the sun and Escape to The Chateau.
With house prices rising, we decided to take the plunge by taking a year out to buy an abandoned house in need of complete rebuild.
It had been empty for 30 years, with broken windows, no electrics, running water, sewage or heating. The roof had leaks, there was woodworm, lead paint, asbestos, rats and more besides.
We loved it!
Neither us have any DIY skills. Our current collection of decorating tools would fit in the average builders pocket.

Whilst ripping down the bedroom ceiling we had quite a nasty discovery. Numerous creatures had already claimed this room as their home and they weren't going to give it up without creating a massive STINK! Let the pain begin.
