This is the 2025 Paoletti Guitars Nancy Loft SP90: a boutique, sustainable made-in-Italy take on the classic Telecaster DNA – with many unique twists along the way!

Check out Paoletti Guitars here:

The Paoletti family have been making guitars since 2008. Every step of their guitar making process is meticulous and to the highest standards, as well as being conscious of the planet: they’re a carbon neutral company, and also keep the plastics in their guitars to the very minimum, among other measures.

And their guitars are built to be the very best of the best, with no expenses spared, and enough personal time spent with every instrument to make sure it’s a superlative experience for the guitar player in every way.

Today, I’m checking out the Nany Loft SP90. Nancy is their Fender Telecaster shaped model; the Loft Series includes guitars with spectacular paintjobs like this one here: Butterscotch Black over Sunburst (in nitrocellulose lacquer, of course!).

The guitar’s body is made of the Paoletti staple of 150-year-old aged chestnut wood. The family has a history in wine making, and they found their old Chianti barrels to be the ultimate in terms of tone wood. This is coupled to a Canadian roasted maple neck with a Pau Ferro fingerboard.

At the body, we have a Paoletti P90 pickup in the neck, and a Tele-style single coil in the bridge. The volume and tone controls are made of recycled shotgun shells. Yes, shotgun shells. The only plastic in this guitar is found in the pickup covers and the selector switch tip (and you can order these in wood to be 100% plastic free, if you wish). The bridge is a custom Paoletti ashtray Tele-style with three brass saddles, and the uniquely shaped scratch plate is nickel-covered brass too.

The satin neck has a comfortable Medium C profile. You get 22 jumbo frets on that Pau Ferro board, which has a 12” radius and a 25.5” scale length. Meanwhile, at the headstock you get six Kluson Deluxe tuners.

The guitar comes in a wooden Paoletti hard case with plenty of case candy (a strap, strap locks, setup tools, certificate of authenticity, user manual, etc.).

All this comes at a premium price, of course: this specific guitar has an RRP of €4,220. Can the Nancy Loft SP90 be worth it? We’re about to find out! In the video, I put the guitar through its paces in as many musical styles as I can, from country, folk and indie, to pop, rock, punk, metal, and more – let’s see how it handles it! Let me know your thoughts on the Nancy Loft SP90in the comments.

Oh, and don’t forget to check out Paoletti’s great Factory Tour documentary series where they take you through the process of building one of their guitars:

32:25 My conclusions on the Nancy Loft SP90 and why you should buy it

My setup was as follows: I ran the guitar into my Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 head, also using my Marshall 1959 Super Lead and Revv G3 pedals for overdrive and heavy distortion sounds. I recorded it all into my Zoom H6, and then edited it all together in Final Cut Pro X. That's it. No post-processing on the sounds was done.
