► Listen to No Place Like Croydon in full with Nadia Rose on Red Bull Radio:
This South London MC is on a mission to take the male-dominated grime scene by storm. After releasing her viral hits “Station” and “Skwod,” Nadia Rose has never been short of attention. She was quickly bestowed with titles from the MOBOs, named in the BBC Sound of 2017 polls alongside AJ Trace and Jorja Smith and was even called into a London writing camp for Rihanna’s album #R9.
Growing up on Whitehorse Road Estate in Croydon, Rose has always been surrounded by talent. Her cousin is Michael Omari, AKA Stormzy, and she graduated from the famous BRIT School (Amy Winehouse, Adele and King Krule passed through its classrooms).
In this episode of No Place Like Home, Rose shows us around the hometown she’s always stayed true to, accompanied by her dog.
From the landmarks where she used to shoot her videos to the playgrounds where she and her friends performed their first freestyles, there is no doubt in her mind that There’s No Place like Croydon.
