British composer Richard Hill, born in 1942, released a 1978 concept album Chanctonbury Ring on Pye Records that blends Modern Classical with Chamber Prog, Funk, and orchestral elements. Featuring oboe, trombone, strings, rock-style keys, and female vocals, the album is eclectic and ambitious - sometimes disjointed, but notable for its rich classical passages and experimental fusion. It recalls some Italian progressive efforts of the era. Though not library music, Hill was active in that field, and this album stands out for its unique, if uneven, stylistic mix. "Sisters of the Moon" exemplifies its surreal orchestral-pop fusion.
