Hailing from Akron, Ohio, daydream Masi merges hip-hop, soul, R&B, and electronic music into a lush yet bold sound that defies all genre boundaries. On “Stardust,” the 21-year-old artist dreams up a smooth but unpredictable sonic palette, unfolding in airy textures and ominous beats, subtly sweet melodies and jagged distortion.In April 2019, daydream Masi made his Interscope debut with “Nightlife,” a hazy and hypnotic track built on tropically inspired production. Now at work on a full-length project titled Slow Rage, he aims to instill a certain sense of emotional purpose into each song he creates. “I always write something for someone,” says daydream Masi. “It’s rare [that] I’m writing songs for no reason.
