Factors & Multiples | Number | Maths | FuseSchool
In this video we are going to look at factors and multiples. Multiples are the timestables of a number. What we get by multiplying that number. The multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and so on. The factors of 20 are 1, 2, 4, 5, 10 and 20. Factors divide exactly into the number. The highest common factor of two numbers is the highest number that divides exactly into both numbers. It is often written as HCF. The HCF of 20 and 30 is 10. The lowest common multiple is also known as the LCM. The LCM of two numbers is the lowest number that both numbers go into. The LCM of 20 and 30 is 60.
