
Hallstatt is a small village located in the Austrian region known as the Salzkammergut. Despite having less than a thousand inhabitants, the hamlet attracts tourists from all over the world because of its natural beauty, charming architecture and historical importance. The salt mine “Salzwelten”, located in the village, is believed to be the oldest in the world. This meant that, in the past, the region was considered one of the most promising for wealth. Hallstatt enjoyed great recognition during the Iron Age and in 1997 it received the title of World Heritage Site.
