On 24 November 1975, 28-year-old Jon Snow recorded an audition tape - or camera test - for ITN, where he was hoping to get a job as a reporter. Evidently unhappy with his performance in the first take, Snow asked to do one more. He was then asked to perform a mock studio interview. The rest, as they say, is history.
