➡️ One of the distinct trendy psychedelic sounds at the moment is what I like to call the slowed-down lead. Essentially, it could be any lead that we feed into either a comb filter (for best results) or a delay. The cutoff of the comb filter should be almost closed with high resonance to create a slow stuttery delay-like effect, and it should be modulated in a way that creates the feeling of acceleration or deceleration of time (usually an LFO modulates the cutoff point of the comb filter slightly).

🛑 However, Vital’s comb filter is super noisy and is known for creating weird artifacts, especially when it gets modulated. This makes it far from ideal for creating those types of leads. This leaves us with the only option of using the delay in Vital! But what if we want to use the delay for traditional delay duties?

✅ In this case, use Vital’s flanger, which, by the way, is a sort of comb filter. It does the job much cleaner and better than Vital’s comb filter and frees up the delay for traditional or creative use.
