A very casual and un-postured jam session on Feb 2018 at Clear Lake Studios by the Stratos Ensemble. It was intended as something only for fans but the band decided it was good enough for the general public. This music is completely improvised modern jazz that integrates electronic ambient music. The music is intended more as a mood and a flow rather then something performed purely to dazzle or entertain.
Note: please excuse any video blemishes during the second half of the set. It is a one-man camera crew so film prep can be sketchy.
Musicians that day included the likes of Shaunte Palmer who plays for Kamasi Washington, and Maury Baker who was Janis Joplin's drummer.
All players included:
Shaunte Palmer - trombone
Mick Stevens - bass
Dean De Benedictis - piano, synths, production
Brandon McGregor - guitar
Perry Lopez - percussion
Maury Baker - drums
