Result of this comparison should be a no suprise to those interested in Edifier products. Edifier S880DB sounds remarkably similar to its bigger brother Edifier S1000DB when music light on bass is played. Unfortunately when the music relies on bass more than just a little than S880DB shows its limitations and proves that it can not be considered a valid alternative to bigger models in this kinds of music. I am sure that Edifier could easily squeeze few extra decibels down low from S880DB, but decided not to in order to secure the position of bigger models, which is a pity because it would elevate it from just being very good to great.
