As part of his so-called “common sense” pledge, U.S. President Donald Trump Wednesday signed an executive order banning transgender athletes from competing in women’s and girl’s sports at “virtually all schools” across the nation.

“The war on women’s sports is over,” Trump told the crowd at a ceremony commemorating the signing. “From now on, women’s sports will only be for women.”

The Republican leader went on to say – prior to the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles – he’s appointed U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio to “make clear” to international Olympics committees that they should adopt similar rules.

“America categorically rejects transgender lunacy,” Trump added.
