Rebecca Haro told police a stranger attacked her and kidnapped her baby boy, Emmanuel, outside a Big 5 sporting goods store. She and her husband, Jake, even stood before cameras, begging for their son’s safe return. But detectives quickly realized something was off and their story unraveled.Police now say Emmanuel was already dead when his parents made that plea. Investigators accuse Jake of confessing to killing the seven-month-old and dumping his body, while prosecutors allege a disturbing pattern of abuse from both parents. Blood was found in the home, but Emmanuel’s body has never been recovered.
Now both Jake and Rebecca face murder charges, while their surviving children have been placed with relatives. With confessions, lies, and chilling family history, investigators are still left with the biggest question of all: what really happened to baby Emmanuel?
