London. Pathe questions the Capital's parking problems.



GV Piccadilly Circus deserted showing empty streets. GV Looking down another empty London street. SV Parking sign. GV Parking spaces in street. TS Mr Worthington driving Sunbeam Rapier up to Town, he raises hat as lorry passes TS Int. Car looking through windscreen. CU Mr Worthington driving. GV Crowded street. SV "Turn Left, One Way Only" sign. LV "No Right Turn". SV "No Entry" sign. GV Cars. LV 2 cars approaching parking space. SV They halt nose to nose. CU 2 drivers arguing as to who will give way.



LV Cars entering Poland St. Garage to park. CU Attendant telling driver there is no room. SV Car backs out and we see "Garage Full" sign. LS Pan from rooftop to cars parked on Garage roof. LV Mr. Worthington in among traffic. CU He wipes his forehead as he waits in line of traffic. SV Taxi-driver leans out of cab and says to Mr. Worthington "Nice little bus you got there Gov'nor". A car behind nudges Mr Worthington's motor. He turns around and says 'Who do you think you are ... Stirling Moss?'. Famous racing driver Stirling Moss leans out and replies 'Yes." The taxi driver says 'Tough luck Gov'nor'.LV Mr. Worthington pulling in beside kerb where there is space to put the car. GV St. Peter's School in Eton Square. SV Car parked outside school Exit. SV School children watching people with placards protesting against parking outside schools. LV Police driving away car which has been parked in forbidden area. Shots of police van towing away car and leaving constable behind, another car drives into the same place while the constable is not looking, the driver gets out and walks away, the constable turns round and sees the car. LV Shots of this car being towed away. SV Mr. Worthington speaking to the constable - his car has been towed away. GV Traffic coming round Marble Arch. GV Anamorphic (squeezed) Shots, buses going along street. GV Traffic going round Marble Arch. (Neg.)
