Against the Clock is a series on FACT where we give an artist 10 minutes in the studio and see what they come up with.

Taking the challenge this week, Mathew Jonson. Born in Vancouver, Jonson has set up one hell of a studio in Berlin - full of modular synths, drum machines and more - and on his Against the Clock he shows just now naturally he builds up layer of ambience over tweaked drum patterns with it. It's awe-inspiring, not just due to the amount of equipment or the ease with which he uses it, but due to just how damn fun it looks.
