So Why Did Germany Lose the World War Two !?
For the first two years of the war, from September 1939 to the second part of 1941 Germany was practically unstoppable, managing to conquer a good part of Europe by annexing Czechoslovakia and Austria. Also Poland, Benelux countries and France fall in the first months of the war.
One of the main external reasons for Germany defeat was The UK’s ability to resist to Germany’s heavy offensive maintaining this way the western front open against Germany.
The second external reason was the entering of the United States into the war on the side of the Allies as a result of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor.
But the most important reason is the launch of Operation Barbarossa, the surprise Germany invasion of the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941. This way, Germany opened a second front in the East, something that Germany wasn’t ready for. Even though they almost reached Moscow, the extreme winter conditions and the mistake of attacking Stalingrad helped the Russian Army which in the end reached Berlin in April 1945, while western allies entered in the beginning of May.
