When the air is removed from the tank, a vacuum is created inside the tank. This means that the pressure inside the tank becomes lower than the pressure outside the tank. As the pressure inside the tank is lower than the pressure outside the tank, the air outside the tank begins to compress the tank. If the pressure outside is high enough, the cistern can shrink to the point where its walls can't hold and burst. #science #experiment
