Description:

Europe is facing a population crisis, and it’s happening faster than you think. While the world’s population grew by 70.2 million people in 2024, Europe was the only continent to shrink, losing 1.2 million people.

But why is this happening?

📉 Low birth rates – With an average of 1.5 children per woman, Europe’s population is far below the replacement level of 2.1.
✈️ Mass emigration – Skilled workers, especially from Eastern Europe, are leaving for the U.S. and Canada in search of better opportunities.
⚔️ The war in Ukraine – With increased death rates and millions of men at war, birth rates in Ukraine and Russia have collapsed.

As other continents grow, Europe is on a path of demographic decline. What does this mean for the future? Drop your thoughts in the comments! 👇

And then, because of the war in Ukraine, death rates have increased in both Ukraine and Russia. With many men at war, birth rates have collapsed in both countries.

And that’s why...
