The E34 followed in 1988, refining the formula with more power and technology, while the 1998 M5 E39 is often hailed as the pinnacle of the M5 family for its perfect balance between analog driving dynamics and luxury. The 2005 M5 E60 brought the first V10 engine to the family, delivering 500 hp and becoming a legend on and off the track.
