ABOUT this concert in 2007:
Charismatic Paul Anka has been a master crooner for half a century now. In the last few years the singer could mostly be seen performing in life size events in the gambling city of LasVegas, but ever since his CD Rock Swings - in which eighties and nineties pop and rock songs were subjected to a swing metamorphosis- he's back again. Canadian born, but residing in California for years now, he started his massive career as a teenage idol with hits like Diana and Put Your Head On My Shoulder. As a songwriter he procured countless artists, including Buddy Holly, 'Rat Packer' Sammy Davis Jr and Tom Jones, with beautiful songs. And of course: Anka wrote the lyrics of Frank Sinatra's biggest success My Way. Anka is working on a new CD right now, and at the festival he and his big band will treat us to a foretaste.
