This woman is said to have “solved” her own murder case. But how did she do this when she’s actually - the victim? Born in the Philippines, Teresita Basa moved to the US in the 1960s, where she later worked as a respiratory therapist. However, on February 21, 1977, her body was found nude under a mattress inside her burning apartment, with a large knife on her chest. The case remained unsolved until her former coworker, Remy Chua, stepped forward and claimed that Basa's spirit possessed her and revealed the identity of her killer: Allan Showery. Showery robbed and killed the helpless Filipina, even giving one of Basa’s pieces of jewelry to his girlfriend. To some, this is considered a miracle and proof of the afterlife. However, after pleading guilty in 1979, Showery received only a 14-year sentence and was even released on parole in 1983.
