A family friend’s pool coping had begun crumbling after ten years, and it clearly needed a full reset. The job kicked off with lifting each worn stone and chiseling away the old cement beneath. After that came hours of sanding until each piece was nearly flawless—or at least smooth enough for backyard weekends. Every slab had been measured and trimmed with care, made to fit its exact place. One wrong move, and it was back to square one—which nobody had the patience for. While the brothers handled the stonework, their dad took charge of the perimeter beam, knocking off debris and prepping the surface. They applied a strong layer of bonding adhesive, added a mesh base for strength, and carefully locked in the new coping. One brother stayed close with a sponge, wiping off excess glue as they went. A coarse, travertine-compatible grout was added, followed by a clean silicone line to seal the edges—because leaks are no one’s idea of fun. After a full day under the sun, the last stone clicked into place, and they all jumped into the pool to cool off.
