I had installed the windows just a week earlier and was pretty disappointed to find that both were leaking.

Now I know that it was probably just my lack of experience using a caulking gun that caused the problem, but at the time I wasn’t entirely sure what the issue was.

I got a number of quotes, some of which were RIDICULOUS! That’s stupid money!

In the end, the guys I found were experienced, well reviewed and reasonable, not to mention friendly, helpful showing me where I went wrong and happy for me to watch.

In 30 minutes they had cut the windows off - with a cheese-wire type device, cleaned up the windows, re-primed the door, applied a proper, even, bead of adhesive and reattached them to the doors.

Needless to say, given that they replace windows every day they did a brilliant job of reattaching the windows.

So how much did they charge? For peace-of-mind, knowing that the windows are now firmly attached and will be completely watertight for years to come, I paid £72 including VAT. Well worth it, I think!
