This is part three of the Hardware Jam challenge – this week is space flight.

The melody (Scales, Plaits, FX Aid) gradually rises throughout. The Mother 32 fades between a basic square wave through to an FM acid sound (STO, Arp). The DFAM is running through a panned Echo in Ableton Live which drifts in and out throughout the track. The final layer is from Morphagene through Multi FX.

The challenge description:

You are bathed in light and being pulled toward the ship. "relax" says the old man. "It's kind of like swimming." You are inside the ship now with him. "My name is Patrick and we don't have much time". You feel the ship moving toward the roof. You watch it travel though the concrete floor and eventually into the sky. It's moving so fast it takes you a few seconds to recognise your house. "we don't have much time, I'm going to beam you into your studio and you have a minute to gather enough equipment to write your next jam". You are in a panic but gather what you can. You feel a terrible sinking sensation as the ship accelerates. The sky turns from blue to black and you watch earth get smaller, in the shortest moment it looks like another star in the sky. You are strangely calm as Patrick tells you that "We have just discovered your earthling music and are quite delighted by it, we would be honoured if you would play us what you humans describe as a banger"
