PM Modi Commissions Three Made-In-India Warships In Mumbai
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated three naval combatants, Surat, Nilgiri, and Vaghsheer to the nation at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai on Wednesday. Upon arrival, he received a guard of honour. PM Modi remarked that India is emerging as a prominent maritime power globally and expressed pride in the fact that all three frontline naval combatants were made in India. Each of these combatants boasts unique features. INS Surat is among the largest and most advanced destroyers worldwide, with 75 per cent indigenous content state-of-the-art weapon-sensor systems and cutting-edge network-centric capabilities. INS Nilgiri, designed by the Indian Navy's Warship Design Bureau, integrates advanced technologies for improved survivability, seakeeping, and stealth. Finally, Vaghsheer underscores India's growing expertise in submarine construction, built in collaboration with the Naval Group of France.
