In this first of our Utopian Voids Interview Podcast Series featuring Socal music acts playing upcoming Utopian Voids events, Tom of Suburban Helltapes interviews Los Angeles / Inland Empire based electronic / postpunk /synthpop musicians/DJs; Nights Templar, Plezzure, No Exits, Dustin Krapes, and The Black Cat. With a friendly stray cat guarding our set, we discuss various facets of music, such as tape labels, intimate shows vs huge concerts, the state of electronic music in LA with the recent resurgence of synth pop, post punk and darkwave genres, local and not-so-local record shops. Most importantly, Tom scores some snacks 👍 and we find out about some of the bands' favorite food spots in the LA/IE areas.
