Learn the way to connect wired headsets to PS4 controller.
Before looking at the procedure, just to clarify, you can’t use a Bluetooth headset with a PS4 because of the audio latency issue.
It means, there would be some delay in the gameplay audio when you try to connect the Bluetooth headphones using an external bluetooth adapter.
To avoid that, we will be connecting the headphones to the PS4 controller using the wire that comes along with the headphones. When you connect the 3.5mm headphone jack to the PS4 Dualshock controller, turn on the #Headphones.
Even though you connect the wired headphones to the PS4 controller, it is required to change the few settings on the #PS4 to listen to the #gameplay audio.
Turn on the PS4 and navigate to settings
Here find ‘Devices’ then move to ‘Audio Devices’
Choose ‘Output Device’ and select ‘Headsets Connected to Controller’. Please make sure that you need to connect the headphones to the PS4 controller with the cable and it should be turned on before making these changes. Otherwise, you won’t see these options.
Once you select the output device, come back then choose ‘Output to Headphones’ to ‘All Audio’ instead of ‘Chat Audio’.
Also, check ‘Switch output Device Automatically’ so that you don’t need to repeat these steps whenever you connect headphones to the PS4 controller.
That’s it. You will now hear the theme music of PS4 on your headphones. You can control the headphones volume here.
Also, you can quickly toggle these setting by holding the PS button on the controller.
