Welcome back Gogang! I'll be taking through a typical day in my life using the iPad Pro, focusing on the student perspective. At the end I'll tell you whether or not it can fully replace a laptop and be your only computer. Between communicating with sponsors and clients, emails are a big part of my day. A great thing about the iPad OS is that you get the DESKTOP version of websites. So the website don't have limited functionality like on your phone.
Media consumption is what the iPad was originally made for. It doesn't get better than this. The screen is bright and the speakers are loud. It's portable and you can just carry it anywhere.
As a student you're going to be taking a lot of notes. iPad Pro note taking is awesome! I personally use One Note because it syncs with my laptop. But if I was exclusively using the iPad for school, I'd choose Notability for my go to app. You need the Magic Keyboard or the new Logitech keyboard to use the iPad Pro for any sort of productive work.
So can the iPad be your only laptop as a student? For most students, just taking notes and surfing the web I'd say yes. But for students who play a lot of PC games and do content creation, I'd say you need a computer because not all apps are optimized on the iPad.
