But he doesn't just sell vegetables, he sells arts too. He made every stroke by hand. But the villagers don't appreciate his arts. One man even claimed that he could do it better and kicked his vegetables. No it wasn't staged. Another passerby came and bought all his vegetables, there wasn't a lot, for $6. But the paintings, she gave it a look and wouldn' touch.
The old man looked sad so the woman who was filming decided to buy all his arts. It made the old man very happy and he invited her to his home. He lives inside a small village inside an unassuming home.
He has never married, never had kids, and have always lived alone. He showed her his paintings, they were breathtaking. The man likes to paint mountains and when asked if he's been there, he's said that he hasn't and would never be able to.
When he was one, he had a fever and it damaged his brain, causing mobility issues, he can never get far, when he was in grade 2, he had to drop out. He never got to complete much school but with art, he found an escape. He started at 11 completely self taught.
It's amazing how patient he is. When he wants to paint a specific flower, he would grow it in his garden and study it. When he wants to paint a bird, he would go to the zoo and study it all day before going home to paint.
His observation skills is unmatched and it's a shame that he never got to finish school. He often work late into the night. Having someone care about his art makes the man very happy because most villagers don't.
Still, he said he'll keep making art no matter what. These paintings are reflections of his dream world. What he couldn't see in person, he sees with his paintbrush.
