In and out of prison since he was 26 for drug offences, Poh Lim, 66, asked - on Life Behind Bars () - “If I say that I want to change, would you believe me?” One employer, Marc Lee of Pro-Lifting Solution, did, enough to offer him a job after watching his story.

Released from Changi Prison in August 2022 under the Mandatory Aftercare Scheme, Poh Lim started his first full-time job in decades. For ex-offenders, having stable work is crucial to staying crime-free and out of jail. Poh Lim had all but lost hope of being employed, because of his age, frailty and lack of education or experience.

Hoping to make his 10th time out of jail his last, Poh Lim’s focus is now on his 88-year-old mother, his job - and trying to reconcile with his estranged sons.
