In Xishuangbanna, Yunnan province in southwestern China, a wild Asian elephant accidentally fell into a water pit. The National Nature Reserve staff quickly launched a rescue operation, evacuating nearby villagers and using an excavator to dig a pool. After several hours of effort, the wild elephant was successfully rescued from the pit.
