Any pirate enthusiast is familiar with William Kidd - though some would argue he wasn't a pirate. Entire books have been written trying to vindicate his reputation. He is most famous for the ill-fated privateering voyage, in which he captured only three prizes - one being a fishing boat - allegedly buried his treasure, and ending in his hanging. But, did he deserve it?
