As a musician, why would you want to sound like everyone else? Chasing trends will get you nowhere; there may be some quick returns, but the truth of the matter is always the same; trying to be like everyone else leads to diminishing returns.
All of the trends that you hear in the music world are either fabricated to generate traffic, or were born from someone being themself as a musician, rather than following trends.
If you waste your time trying to sound like everyone else only because it'll make you some money, you will find that that gratification passes quickly and is replaced with you not knowing who you truly are as an artist.
Long story short; don't try to be like everyone else. Be genuine in your approach. It'll take longer to get where you want to be, but when you do, you'll be who you want to be.
