play victim to the ones missing
sometimes the best dreams you've ever had
are the ones you remember, but never understand

poisoned water, creeps inside my veins
some call it freedom, others wisdom
so long as it separates me from the pain
pour it down until you can't see the bottom

i can still remember when
love was said to be unknown to me
the first, still potent in my brain
but with years, i'm just a shadow, she'll never see

i remember all of the reasons
i remember all of the excuses
i replace all of the memories
with everything any of you couldn't be
