This is a song I wrote and performed in Old Norse, part 3 of my Sagas in Song series, dealing with events from Orkneyinga saga, the narrative history of Shetland and Orkney. It is dedicated to one of my favourite Saga heroes and a Catholic warrior-saint, Rǫgnvaldr Kali Kolsson, Jarl of Orkney. The song describes his decision to go to Jerusalem and the adventure that followed.

My intention is exclusively to teach history and languages through song. I do not condone, endorse or seek to glorify violence.
