22 exercises for flamenco right hand thumb. Guitar technique. Exercise 22 is an addictive little solo with a repeating thumb bass pattern. I found that the right hand thumb plays a crucial role in the speed of the fingers. If I warm up the right hand thumb first before playing any flamenco, my fingers play with more accuracy and speed. Arpeggios, rasgueados, picado and tremolo feel easier to play. This is just my subjective observation, but I do what works for me. You never know, it may work for you too.
