Here are 3 kitchen hacks from a professional chef that you need to know. 

1. Quickly Cut & De-Seed Jalapeños
If your recipe calls for seedless jalapeño pieces, try this to make your life easier. 

Place it on its side on your cutting board and start making lengthwise cuts all the way around as you rotate the pepper. 

Quick, easy, and clean up is a breeze. 

2. Use Water to Test Stainless Steel
Please don't use oil to test the heat of your stainless steel pans. Do this instead. 

Heat your pan and drop a little water into the bottom. You're looking for the droplets to glide across the bottom rather than just sizzling and evaporating. 

3. Remove Can Contents Easily
Do your arm a favor and stop trying to shake the contents out of your cans. Here's what you do. 

Place the open side of your can down into a bowl or pan. Use the tip of a knife to carefully poke a hole in the bottom and release the pressure. Once you lift the can, the contents should easily slide out.
