Orchestral score video for Solvitur Ambulando - for those of you lacking in Latin that means “It is solved by walking”I made this for the soundtrack of my brother Anthony’s experimental film series called “Eggs”. He wanted a song for the closing scene similar to the theme song from Jurassic Park. The end result sounded absolutely nothing like the theme song from Jurassic Park, but we decided it fit the scene much better anyway.
The bulk of the instrumentation comes from the traditional orchestra (strings, winds, brass, harp, timpani, etc.), but also includes a few interesting touches including koto and electric piano. The most interesting touch is the massive gong hit right after the brass climax - as a gong enthusiast I’m proud of that one. If you’re going to listen to one part of this at nothing else listen to that (it comes in around 1:50).
