Read the details of this side trip from Osaka to Mount Hieizan:In this video we will be taking a day trip from Osaka up Mount Hieizan which is located just east of Kyoto and is home to Enryakuji, one of the most important monasteries in Japan. Before taking the cable car up the mountain, we'll take a delightful boat cruise on Lake Biwa, the country's largest lake. After exploring the ancient temple complex, we'll ride the HIEI train along the Eizan train line back to Kyoto and eventually return to Osaka.
