Wicked in-depth interview with Danny Dread about the history of Iquator Sound System - with it's beginnings as a sound system known as 'Section' in Bristol in 1976. We follow it's journey through the 1980's - where in 1981 the sound changed it's name to 'Iquator' and through to the 1990's - where Iquator won the Cup at the Bristol Sound Clash Cup Final in 1990. Also discussed are the sad deaths of two key members of Iquator Sound. 'Bangy' (RIP)- was the Operator for Iquator Sound & was sadly murdered on New Year's Day in Bristol in 1995. His death made national UK news headlines. Bangy was later awarded the Queen's Gallantry Medal for his bravery in trying to stop the mugging in St Pauls which led to his sad death. Here are some news articles that reported on the death of Bangy :

'Scientist' (RIP)- was the Selector & Technician for Iquator Sound System and he sadly was to fall victim to the Covid-19 virus & passed away recently in April 2020. His funeral was held in Bristol in May 2020.
At the end of the video is a rare 90 minute vintage live recording of the 1990 Bristol Sound Clash Cup Final between Iquator Sound & Excalibur - which Iquator won on the night. Big respect goes out to Dezzie Ranking for the tape !
Big Respect goes out to Guvna Gregah for editing & processing the video !!
