OUR ELOPEMENT JOURNEY
Episode 2: We Were NOT Prepared for Winter VanLife

This Episode we pick you up right where we left off - the Mississippi Welcome Center on the border of Mississippi and Alabama. Over the next few days we drove all the way to our Cabin in the mountains in Gold Mine Country (which was absolutely breathtaking!) near Idaho Springs, Colorado.

We quickly realized we very much UNDERESTIMATED VanLife in the winter. ☃️
In Paxico, Kansas we had an almost sleepless and very cold night as temperatures got down into the single digits. With temperatures dropping below freezing, before we stopped the next night we invested in Mummy Bags and heating blankets for the dogs. 🥶
On top of that our pee funnel / tube froze causing it to back up in the Van. We had to put on our thinking caps and creative minds in order to unclog it. 🚽
Also, we totally forgot to change our windshield washer fluid and that froze as well. In order to defrost it we removed the whole container from the van, boiled water and kept adding it until it melted. We then went to the store (AGAIN) and bought washer fluid to withstand freezing temperatures. 🚐

Overall, it was an amazing few days, seeing snow for the first time, the beautiful views, and the excitement leading up to getting married! 💍❄️
