The seldom recorded New York based Jackson Brothers started life under stewardship of the vastly experience Billy Mure and Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller in 1959.
As the Righteous Brothers style of big production, muscular vocals became popular this obscure gathering where fully equipped to deliver that “in” sound of booming verbal-volleyball between masterful moody vocals.
Brilliantly introduced by sledgehammer piano, before the rasping brooding vocal contemplates if there is any “truth” lies behind the rumours that his girl still wants him. His hope amplified his hope riding an uplifting fanfare of trumpets.
The perfect big hall “niter” sound, proven by the full floor response at Benn Rugby on every occasion it hit the turntables.
