© 1989 Jive Records. This is a really obscure and rare gem from the late '80s that I've owned on CD for many years, the debut from South African saxophonist McCoy Mrubata. This album was played quite a bit on 94Q's 'Jazz Flavours' in Atlanta back in 1989, but later seemed to have been swept under the rug. I recorded "Fire Bird" to tape during a night of 'Jazz Flavours' along with Nelson Kole's "Tattoo", a great album that was also brand new at the time.
