A fire in Monterey County, Calif., on Thursday prompted orders for the evacuation of nearby places, the company and county officials said.
The fire was detected at an energy storage facility at the Vistra Corp's Moss Landing plant, according to Vistra.
“Winds in Southern California do crazy things but we are not dealing with it, fortunately,” Monterey County Community Director Nick Pasculli said.
Local media reported that hundreds were ordered to evacuate due to the fire at Vistra, one of the world’s largest battery storage plants.
