In our top story: After another day of intense fighting, Russia and Ukraine have agreed to hold their first meeting since the invasion began on Monday. The ongoing clashes has forced many Ukrainians fleeing for nearby borders in an attempt to find safety. Crystal Goomansingh is in Poland and talks about what she's seen at a number of crossing points.

Ukrainian soldiers are continuing to hold their capital, Kyiv, from the Russians, but the city's mayor says it is surrounded. The Associated Press' Joe Federman provides an update on the current situation and the concerns officials have over food supplies and medicine, with no reported way in or out of the city.

In Europe, more sanctions have been laid out by the European Union against Russia, including closing airspace to Russian aircraft. Redmond Shannon explains what steps the EU and individual European countries are taking.

The sanctions the Canada and its allies have imposed on Russia have yet to deter attacks on Ukraine. Mercedes Stephenson spoke with Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly about what other steps can be taken and if Canada will put a ban on one of Russia's biggest exports: oil and gas.

The U.S. is sending millions of dollars in military and humanitarian aid to help Ukrainians, but President Joe Biden has maintained he will not send American soldiers into this war. Jennifer Johnson reports.

In Ukraine, all men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prevented from leaving the country so they can join the fight against Russia. It's led to tough choices for many families. Mike Drolet reports.
