The BP Pulse NEC Gigahub has just opened (Sept 2023) at the NEC, Birmingham. This is the UK's largest electric vehicle charging hub with 180 EV charging bays! The site has 30 x 150kW DC rapid charging bays and 150 7kW AC charging bays. The DC chargers have both CCS2 and Chademo connectors. In this video I walk around and show you what's there and also explain the parking arrangements.
The NEC (National Exhibition Centre) is located just off the M42 motorway and attracts huge numbers of visitors when shows, conferences and concerts are on. The 7kW AC chargers are located within a car park where you have to pay for parking, just like all the other car parks around the NEC. Any visitor to the NEC is likely to be parked up nearly all day, so having such a huge number of AC chargers is a great facility. The DC rapid chargers are not restricted and open to all without any parking fees. There's also a new Starbucks coffee shop with a drive through, which is also unrestricted and open to all.
