The Organ Pipes are a fascinating geological formation. They are one of the most, if not the most striking outcrop of columnar basalt in the state of Victoria. Located just before Digger's Rest, near Sunbury, in Victoria, Australia, the Jackson's Creek has carved through the basaltic rock to reveal this stunning example of a geological oddity. The volcanoes here roared to life within the past 1 million years and in this video we highlight which volcanoes are most responsible for burying the ancient waterway that once meandered through what was once a totally different landscape, prior to the recent volcanic eruptions.
