And I can't blame them for asking, because I sometimes wonder myself how quickly time flies. One thing I experience every day is that a lot of things I set out to do take about twice or three times as long as planned. Especially when I have completed a longer and more complex video (like this one), I promise myself that I will only make shorter and less complicated videos from now on. But by the video after next, I've somehow forgotten all about it. In any case, I hope to find a way to shorten the intervals between my video uploads in future without compromising on quality. However, my priority is to continue to develop both as a musician and as a person, to grow with new challenges and to learn new skills. I would like to take the necessary time to do this. I also want to free myself from the external pressure to satisfy the YouTube algorithm in the long term or to reach a certain number of views or subscribers. That's not the reason why I chose to be a musician. I don't think anyone learns a musical instrument with the aim of becoming rich and super successful. And if they do, it won't work. What fulfills me most about making music is the 'flow' experience of creating an arrangement or composition and practicing the piano. These are the moments when I am so absorbed in the music that I forget about time and worries. I can also express my inner feelings through music and share them with the world. That's what fulfills me when I make music and drives me to keep going. Above all, it's the immaterial experiences that make me really happy. We are currently living in a very exciting, but also very fast-moving time that is characterized by consumption and external success. For many people, the possession of material things and status symbols as well as external recognition are very important. We learn at school that we have to work hard to get good grades so that we can earn a lot of money later on, which we can use to afford expensive material things and vacations. As a result, the planet we live on continues to be exploited and will eventually become uninhabitable for future generations. It also means that once we seem to have achieved everything that society demands of us, we suddenly feel empty inside. Instead of being guided by external rewards, we should act out of inner drive and joy. Less materialism, more idealism. Spend more time on immaterial things, such as friendship, love, self-realization, lifelong learning and of course: music.
